This came after complaints poured from around the world. Users complained of bugs, compatibility issues, and health risks to players. Sony cites ‘lack of customer satisfaction as the reason it pulled the product out of stores.
Sony supplied a statement regarding reasons why it took the action, saying that the company strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. “Therefore, we will begin to offer a full refund for gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store,” the statement read.
That statement has already been posted on international PlayStation websites across the United States, Australia, and also in other cities. The removal of Cyberpunk 2077 will commence today until further notice, the company revealed.
This is one of the most anticipated games in history, and it made gamers wait while it was delayed for months before it was released. Before its release, one player sounded an alarm that the game caused epileptic seizures while it was played. That prompted the company behind the game, CD Projekt RED to add health warnings regarding playing the game.
Despite all these negativities, an entertainment rating website gave the game a score of 87 out of 100. There were many reviews; about 69 of them, describing the game as “an open world, an action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour, and body modification.”
The manufacturer of Cyberpunk 2077 said it spent about 300 million dollars on producing it. That makes it one of the most expensive games ever made, according to analysts at Polish bank BOS.
CD Projekt RED was highly successful five years ago when it released “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” which portrayed a monster that was endowed with superhuman powers.
Cyberpunk 2077 has wreaked havoc on the stock values of CD Projekt RED since its release last week.
